The Floating Bike Shop?... NOT BIKES THAT FLOAT! but simply a bike shop that was started on board my narrow boat “Brass Farthing”, established in 2003 serving the boaters and communities between Leamington Spa and Braunston.

I stock all the usual spares and accessories as well as a selection of reconditioned bikes and new folding bikes.

You can bring me your bike for repair most days, anything from a puncture repair to a full restoration including wheel building, on all types of bikes particularly folding bikes from Brompton, Strida, and Dahon, older Mtbs and Traditional bikes.

The Floating Bike Shop Land Base?...Yes I know that doesn't make sense but it simply is not now possible to cater for my customers needs from the boat alone, I am open days, evenings and weekends, until I find a way to be in two places at once I could be at either so please call me to check or to make a next day appointment.......update July...

.....Your help is needed...I am becoming busier and busier repairing your bikes (at the workshop), that’s great I thank you very much for your custom but the “Floating bike shop” is in danger of sinking (not literally), I am struggling to open it up as much as I would like so if you can bring me your bikes for repair on Saturday mornings (8am-12pm) for collection the next Saturday that will help keep the weekday appointments (which will still be available) under control. .....Winter is here...with the evenings now drawing in I will stop the Wednesday evening opening that I introduced a couple of months ago, to be honest it has not proved a popular time for customer visits so not sure if I will reintroduce it next year yet. At this time of year you are likely to find me in the workshop during most days working on new projects like an 11 speed Brompton conversion, an electric trailer and the ongoing workshop improvements. .....January gone already!...this has been my busiest January for general repair work ever, so am not as advanced with some of my winter projects as I would like, the good news is the 11 speed Brompton conversion is going well and will be available soon, it has been fitted to the S, M, and P-type models, does not require any repainting of the rear frame, which has been cold set (steel, have not tried a titanium one yet) and retains the standard front axle frame hook that another conversion ( bike shop with a sweet in it’s name) has changed. Currently building up a new 2012

M-type Brompton 11 speed Alfine that will be available to purchase, the conversion will be available for fitting to your Brompton.

Winter Opening times Saturday 8am - 12pm and most other days by appointment.
